Derek completed his BSc(hon) and PhD at Monash Uni, before completing a post-doc at Kings College London.
7 years at Melbourne Uni and 3 years at Walter and Eliza Hall institute.
Derek is passionate about bringing the precision and control of science to the world of craft beer, by providing a wide selection of high quality liquid yeast strains – he’s driven to help Aussie craft brewers improve their beer flavours.
An enthusiastic home brewer and craft beer drinker himself, Derek is a fan of trying new and exciting brews, if it’s different – he’ll definitely try it!
DAMIEN IS A QUALIFIED MECHANICAL ENGINEER WITH A FOCUS ON IMPROVING PROCESS AND EFFCIENCIES. IN SHORT – HE KNOWS WHAT IT TAKES TO BUILD A BETTER BREW.
A leader in the field of process improvement, Damien is also Director of OE Partners. He has worked at world class manufacturing companies across the globe such as Toyota in Japan and Robert Bosch in Australia.
Damien is also a fan of good craft beer (& whiskey) and through his attention to detail and clever thinking, ensures Bluestone Yeast operations runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
