BSY-A038
Bergen
Norwegian Kveik
Bergen is a Norwegian kveik strain from the Gjernes farmstead in Voss that ferments cleanly across an extraordinarily wide temperature range (20-37C). At cooler temperatures it produces minimal esters and phenols, while higher temperatures build a huge fruit ester profile dominated by orange peel and citrus character. It forms incredibly large flocs unlike any other yeast strain while still maintaining high attenuation. POF negative, so no phenolic character even at very high temperatures. An ideal choice for breweries without temperature control or in warm climates, and for any brewer wanting fast turnaround times.
