Freiberg
German Lager
Freiberg is the world's most popular lager strain, producing exceptionally clean, crisp beers with a neutral profile that allows malt and hop character to take centre stage. Based on the legendary Weihenstephan 34/70 lineage, it is the industry workhorse for virtually every lager style from pilsners to bocks. At proper lager temperatures (9-14C) it delivers minimal esters and a perfectly clean finish. Medium flocculation with good settling during cold conditioning. Can ferment warmer but sacrifices its trademark cleanliness above 14C.
